Your Heart’s Cry
I’m seeking You, but You seem so far away. Grace at a distance beckons me to run faster toward the promised peace. The legs of my faith spasm under the stress of hope deferred. Like a good soldier I try to endure, but my strength is failing, and my energy is low. My spiritual breathing is fast and erratic, no longer able to keep up with the demands of living maxed out. I am not prepared for this race. I have not adequately trained for this level of exertion. How far must I run to reach You? What emotional distance must I cross to find myself surrounded by Your love?
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13 ESV
This time of devoted togetherness is working within you a beautiful discipline. Seeking Me is a process that teaches you how to run with patience and endurance. Then, when you find Me, you are able to rest confidently and know I am God. I am God of your past, I am God of your present, and I am God of your future. Life is a continuum, moving you along a path from glory to glory. Find times of refreshing in the watering of My Word. Breathe a deep breath and receive the assistance of My spirit. Stretch your faith muscle and believe again. You are further along than you realize. Continue to run the race set before you. Your reward will be worth the effort.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.1 Corinthians 9:25 NIV
